Lockwood & co : the ghostbusters dream team

I love the whole series of Lockwood & Co . The first book , the screaming staircase , I saw in the library and took it home . I read it late at night , during baby-sitting and the shadows seemed really dark when I went home . After that , I bought the whole series . It's sort of an urban fantasy , placed in an England where suddenly the ghosts are no longer rare but an everyday - or rather night - reality ; Only sensitive children can see them and the best are hired as ghost -busters . Lucy is a ghost buster who left her small town to come to the big city of London to make it as a ghost buster . She fails to get hired by the big companies and is finally hired by Lockwood , a two-agents operation that works on a shoe string and a lot of luck . George is the clumsy geek , the one who does the research , finding out ( often late , giving that real cliffhanger surprise effect ) what happened in the past and how many ' sources ' there are in any given spot . Lockwood is the heroic leader , a dashing boy with a dark past and lots of secrets , who tends to leap into danger and carries it off . Lucy is the one who tells the story , her strength is the ability to hear ghosts and even talk to them in certain cases ( the whispering skull ) . She falls in love with Lockwood but doesn't know it herself yet . Her curiosity leads her into danger , as if the job is not dangerous enough .For the touch of a ghost can kill you if help doesn't arrive promptly and an agent is only a good as the rest of the team . The atmosphere in the city is dark , with scared grown-ups , industries that nearly completely depend on ghost-busting and many dark secrets that Lockwood &co are slowly finding out . It's a good read , with lots of humor , if a bit dark , and I hope the series continues for a while .
