Basic book on how the market works with generally good tips and advice for the newly minted trader with a few clams to play in the market. Some of the material may be a stretch for the newbie but if they are motivated enough they will find it beneficial.

I've been trading actively for just over a year and Sasha has been very influential in my education and success. I have purchased several of his courses and watched at least a hundred of his videos. There are no better market recap videos out there in my opinion, and his other videos always have a very high production quality. This is also the second book I have read of his even though I have learned 90+% of what is being taught. Why? Two reasons really 1. I believe that the study and revisit of fundamentals strengthens the base and is prudent. 2. I think Sasha is doing great work and I want to help with that success by purchasing his products and supporting his passion.

So given all that I said; why only three stars? Well in his last book about 100 stock trading tips there were a few typos. I always think myself quite clever when I find one. No big deal it's just proof to me at how attentive I am. This book however is riddled with typos and quite frankly poor editing. I lost track of the count of typos and wrong words that were used. Words like "quiddity" to represent liquidity, "physicians" in place of positions and many more that will serve to confuse more than to educate. Its as if the book was written by dictation and then never actually read. The printed medium is unforgiving when the words don't come out right and its a distraction to the reader that kind of sinks this as a beginner book.

I truly loved the detail Sasha goes into in this book. The stock market can be a complex industry to grasp. I enjoyed that many of the difficult topics were broken down into little real-life examples. I often found other stock market books very technical and would confuse me, but many of the examples in this book just keep things so simple and easy to relate! (For example comparing volume to a gas grill).

As you get deeper into the book, the technical analysis section has quite a few charts and visuals, but this isn't a technical analysis book - it's a getting started book.

While this is a great starting book to get you off the ground, you will probably need more training to get you trading successfully. Although this is not the one-stop shop book to get to learn everything in the stock market, it will cover the major and important things that you should learn when first starting out in the stock market.

I highly recommend this book if you are just getting started in stocks or you want to brush up on fundamentals!

WOW!!! What a simple to understand and great book to read! Things are explained in great detail in this book if you are into stocks.

This book is for the person who is determined to learn about stocks. It cuts all the junk and hype from what many other people preach with the crazy indicators or special tools that’s you need to be a good trader or invest in stocks.

If you are willing to get your hands dirty and rack your brain a little bit then this is a great book. If you are not enthusiastic about the subject then you shouldn't be in stock trading because it will be boring.

There isn't much fluff or stories in the book like some other books. It goes right into the material so it is heavy learning, but if you want to learn rather than get entertainment then this is a wonderful book.

Wydick's Plain English for Lawyers--now in its fifth edition--has been a favorite of law students, legal writing teachers, lawyers, and judges for over 25 years.

In January 2005, the Legal Writing Institute gave Wydick its Golden Pen Award for having written Plain English for Lawyers. The Legal Writing Institute is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for discussion and scholarship about legal writing, analysis, and research. The Institute has over 1,300 members representing all of the ABA-accredited law schools in the United States. Its membership also includes law teachers from other nations, English teachers, and practicing lawyers.

The LWI award states: 'Plain English for Lawyers . . . has become a classic. Perhaps no single work has done more to improve the writing of lawyers and law students and to promote the modern trend toward a clear, plain style of legal writing.'

In 2003 Wydick retired after 32 years on the law faculty of the University of California, Davis. But he still teaches his favorite course -- a seminar in advanced legal writing for third-year law students. For the past eight summers he has also lectured at the International Legislative Drafting Institute presented in New Orleans by the Public Law Center, a joint venture of Tulane and Loyola law schools. There the audience consists of lawyers and non-lawyers from abroad who earn their living drafting legislation in many different languages. 'Teaching at the Institute,' Wydick says, 'is a precious opportunity to learn how much we English-users have in common with people who write laws in other languages.'

How does the fifth edition of Plain English for Lawyers differ from its predecessors? It remains (in size only!) a little book, small enough and palatable enough not to intimidate over-loaded law students. 'Most of the text remains the same,' Wydick says, 'but in the past seven years I ve learned some new things about writing in English, and I want to share that with the readers.' In addition, the exercises at the end of the chapters are different (a welcome change for long-time teachers who are tired of the old ones). Finally, the teacher's manual includes additional exercises that teachers can give to students who want or need extra practice.

Great Go-To Checklist

Legal writing was tough for me, because I love long and sophisticated sentences. This manual work-book has simple exercises that made me practice being concise and simple in my writing. Don't get this book if you're already a grammarian. You'll find it boring. Doing exercises from this book is like drinking a glass of milk a day. It's good for your legal-writing bones.

A scholar and a balladeer, Paul Clayton (1931-1967) is credited with the Top-Ten hit "Gotta Travel On" and was a key figure in the mid-1950s rise of folksong to media popularity. Using accounts from friends, family, and fellow musicians, author Bob Coltman relates the breadth and depth of Clayton's extraordinary life, from his birth into a singing family and his teenage years as a radio singer and folksong collector, to his establishment in New York as a folk performer and recording artist, to his tragic early suicide. Clayton's recordings are also examined, interspersed with his insights and adventures as a performer and songwriter in the folk world. Gradually, Clayton's achievements become overwhelmed by his disintegration as a drug user, failing musician, and bipolar gay man, culminating in eyewitness accounts relating to his tragic end.

Presenting an in-depth look at folk music in the 1950s, Coltman illuminates what it meant to be a working, but not starring, folksinger in this period. Coltman's book is thoroughly detailed and annotated, with interviews with colleagues, family, friends, lovers and creative collaborators. . . . Bob Coltman's friendly prose, eye for detail and exceptional research capture a significant, if overlooked, player in the mid-century folk revival. . . . Recommended. (Sing Out!, July 1, 2009)

Coltman's book was published in 2008, and it is a fine study of a nearly forgotten but still significant figure in the folksong revival of the 1950s and 1960s. The discography is useful, especially in its listing of non-commercial recordings, but equally fascinatingis the appendix of Clayton's copyrighted songs, divided into original compositions hybrids, and traditional songs. While there may not be many who have been longing for a book-length biography of Paul Clayton exists, there may be more people discovering the song and voice that I have respected for over twenty years. The Folk Revival--It's ups and downs

Bob Coltman's book on Paul Clayton and his era of the Folk Song Revival in the USA is right on. From where I sat within the revival, he was a valued finder/collector of these songs. As a singer of traditional ballads and story songs, Paul Clayton put the tale in the songs first---even before himself--possibly partially because of his own vocal limitations. --- After reading this illuminating and sad story of his life, I come away feeling that his life might've been happier if he had been satisfied with being what he did best, a singer and interpreter of traditional material. As Bob Coltman analyzes here quite eloquently, the changing musical times and tastes, the intrusion of pop/Beatles/rock/Dylan and all that that entails (made vibrant in these pages) created a gestalt that Paul could not deal with adequately at all. His guilt and self recrimination from being gay in a time when it was not at all accepted in American life, is poignant, tragic, and sadly ironic as we in the 21st century try to live our ideals in a more enlightened way than our forebears ever would consider. His frustrations with the tremendous successes of his "friend" Bob Dylan -- combined with the fact that many who were there felt Bobby had "taken" one of Paul's found songs and made a million selling song when Peter Paul and Mary recorded it. Paul Clayton's life is filled with the ups and deep downs that flesh is heir to---and it's all in this fine biography of a very sensitive bipolar man who, after hitting bottom, saw the only way to end his pain was to end his own life.

Another sad irony is that, in our time, we now have psychiatric drugs to alleviate many of Paul Clayton's symptoms. ---- I met him only once---and he taught me a song -- a vivid and transporting folk song lyric that I sang for the next 30 years. --- Also, listen to Bob Coltman's fine recordings of folk songs -- and especuially his own composed songs like "Lonesome Robin" and "Before They Close The Minstrel Show." You won't be sorry. (I just had to toss that in.---A.T. ;-)

A spellbinding read,and lingering mistery revealed

An extraordinarily well-documented and insightful view into the life and times of, perhaps, the finest interpreter of traditional folksong in the 20th century...and the movement that gave birth to the 1960s folk revival. Coltman writes with creativity and enthusiasm and an uncanny ability to interpret the life of a very complex character who dominated the folk scene in the U.S. in the 1950s...a truly gifted genius in the field of songwriting and performance, as well as a seer (he foresaw in early 1961 that Bob Dylan was destined to be a superstar!).
Through extensive interviews with both sides of Paul's family, we learn of the impact on him that came from his mother's side, and of the old ballads he learned orally from members of the Hardy family...most particularly the whaling ballads that had gained prominence in his hometown of New Bedford, Massachusetts. He listened eagerly and learned well...and shared his knowledge as widely as possible through radio (establishing his own program on a station in Charlotte Town, Prince Edward island, Canada, at the tender age of 16) and live performances and recording (not only of himself).
When Dylan responded to New York Times writer Robert Shelton's question as to which folksingers he admired, by saying "There's only one...and that's Paul Clayton...he's a spell", it encouraged Clayton to consider Dylan a disciple. And, while there is no hard evidence to support it (and Coltman does not prognosticate), there are those of us who had Paul as a personal friend for many years prior to his association with Dylan...as well as during those years) who believe that Paul's deep depression and eventual suicide were in some way connected to a cross-country tour that they (along with a couple of others) took together in early 1964...a trip which was described to me by Clayton as a "LOOK-SEE TOUR of AMERICA". Bob Coltman surmises that Paul became excess baggage, more or less, a position that would never have been acceptable to him.
For those of us who were not living or working in New York City in the mid 60s, Coltman has put together a fascinating word-picture of the events that occurred during the days leading up to Clayton's suicide, by electrocution, just a few short weeks after his 36h birthday in March 1967.
Coltman concludes his excellent book with an Appendix of Paul Clayton's copyrighted songs. And if this reviewer is to find any shortcoming at all in Coltman's work, I shall have to find it here. While he admits that he has not heard all of the songs, he still cannot resist making educated guesses. For example: He describes LAZY COURTSHIP as "maybe a takeoff on courting ballads like DEAF WOMAN'S COURTSHIP, whereas it is simply an alternative title to THE YOUNG MAN WHO WOULDN'T HOE CORN. JIM HARFIELD'S SON, he correctly concludes may be an original. Paul based the text of the song on documents from the trial in Frankfort, KY...something which Coltman could hardly be expected to know. So...the Appendix may not provide all the information about every single song, but it is an invaluable reference to the complete catalog of Clayton's copyrighted material.
Following the Appendix, a DISCOGRAPHIC provides complete and accurate information about Clayton's incredibly long list of recorded projects (Most-Recorded Folk Singer in the 1950s) including non-commercial transcriptions that can be heard at The Library of Congress, the Flanders Archive, or Kenneth Goldstein Archive, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
NOTES, GENERAL INDEX, and INDEX OF SONG TITLES completes this "labor of love"...a treasure-trove of valuable information that deserves a special place in out hearts, and a place of honor on your bookshelf.

a long time comin'

Mr. Coltman's book is insightful, thoughtful, and probing-- replete with a professional scholar's assessment of Mr. Clayton's achievements and history. This academic orientation does not temper the author's empathetic and all-encompassing look at the artist/scholar's ebullient and tragic personal life, however.

Having known Paul Clayton at the University of Virginia while a young aspiring guitarist/folksinger/English major back in the 1960's, I can attest to the accurate nature of this portrait. I was amazed to read of the many Paul Clayton's I did NOT know, however. Clayton was perhaps the most hypnotic,enigmatic person I have ever known--certainly among the most unforgettable.

On another count, this work is essential reading for anyone interested in the confluence of people and events that shaped and motivated the revolutionary folk music revival of the 1960's --especially as it unfolded in the streets, apartments, and clubs of Greenwich Village (Paul had already been there for over a decade!)

Dave Van Ronk, Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Carolyn Hester-all --and so many more--"came up" in one way or another under the influence and mentoring of the under-heralded composer of "Don't Think Twice" and "Gotta Travel On"---the singular Paul Clayton. Perhaps this stunning volume will help give Mr. Clayton his rightful, long-awaited, albeit posthumous place in the history of American folk music.

Spread across 144 pages, the book covers all styles of house, from electro and fidget to minimal, soulful and progressive, and features illustrated walkthroughs using Logic, Cubase, Ableton and a variety of other softwares.

Written by Marc Adamo, the text is easy to read but packed with intricate details, giving you the feeling that you're being allowed unprecedented access to a world of programming secrets.

The chapters move through essential topics such as making beats and basslines and adding instruments, vocals and FX, but also touch on song structure, synthesis, mixing and mastering. There are also tips from big name producers and a bonus 500MB CD featuring 500MB of 24-bit WAVs taken from Sample Magic's excellent sample libraries.

The illustrations and walkthroughs really are fantastic, showing precise settings for instruments and plug-ins, plus suggested MIDI arrangements for beats, basslines and chords in different styles.

The only down-sides are the slightly thin cover and the fact that there are no audio files on the disc to reference the topics discussed in each chapter. These niggles aside, this is a great book that is essential reading for any house producers who want to fast-track their progress and get hundreds of tips in one place. Although the walkthroughs lean mainly towards making house music in Logic and Ableton, there are plenty of techniques relevant to all genres of electronic music.

Verdict: A superb book stuffed with intricate walkthroughs, illustrations and techniques. Essential reading.

Must read for beginners. Even amateurs can learn tips and tricks to help elevate their work flow. POOR DURABILITY

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 isn't the content. The content is awesome and it doesn't matter what DAW you use...it all translates pretty well. This is a perfect book for beginners-amateurs to get a huge jump start into the art of production. Many sample templates covering all house music genres. Little tips and tricks throughout that really helped elevate my game.

I just want to know what this guy was thinking making it the way he did...I understand a lot of the content couldn't fit properly into a vertical bound book...But WTF? Could have used a little more effort and thought in making it MORE DURABLE. It would be fine if it was bound properly. IF you really use this book a lot, the pages will start to fall out like butter. And then what? It can't sit on bookshelves. It is hard to store anywhere without damage. its not really efficient at all to use while producing cuz of the awkward size. Personally I think it should be remade and given for free for those who provide proof of purchase.

Other than that the print is HIGH quality and VERY legible. Honestly I wish it was just put together right so I wouldnt have to speak anything negative about it...but it really is a huge issue when the pages started falling out.

Great Book

Mine didn't have the Multimedia Redemption code, but Marc Adamo refereed me to the Sample Magic licensing and they fixed me up.

This is really a good read no matter the DAW. It's more music theory for house producers and points out the subtle details of house that I never realized. And I've been a House DJ for 25 Years.

After describing the sum of characteristics that make up the base house sound, Marc goes into detail on how to achieve those characteristics in modern day DAW's. He never starts speaking over the reader's head and seems mindful to pace everything carefully which is ironically also a quality of house music in general.

While I don't think this book stands on it's own in a EDM Librany, that's not it's purpose. This book has so many uses, spur inspiration, ideas, refine the mental workflow of creating music which is 90% of writers block.

Most importantly, it's nice to read theory from not just another producer, but a House producer. That common interest cannot be undervalued.

Great Resource For Aspiring Producers

Like the other reviewer said this book assumes that you have some basic knowledge in DAWs (like FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, etc.)

Visually, it's laid out in a very attractive way. The book itself looks amazing.
It goes over various things like getting various channels with different instruments to mesh together, various genres and what elements define that genre.

It also goes over making synths and has some interesting examples for you to plug in and try yourself. Between the pages of tips, tricks and guides there are insights from various big producers like Wolfgang Gartner which are always fun to read.

It also comes with a sample CD for you to use.

Great book, though I have to say hate the shape of the book itself.
As great as it looks, it's a "floppy long" style of book and doesn't really fit in a bookshelf. Floppy book + hard CD shoved in the back doesn't work too well IMO. But that's pretty much a non-issue.

This book is not about technology of big data. analytics or any type of predictive models it is about how organizations wisely use big data to deliver value for their businesses.

This book provided great insights into how big data is applied across many industries. Its easy to read and each page confirms to a standardised template making it simple to use as a reference book.

I would recommend this book to those new to big data as an initial starting point to its many applications. This book is otherwise to light on information to those that already have hands on experience and wants to dig deeper.

Great high level summaries, but very little detail

If you're looking for a very simple overview of how big data is being put to use then this is the right book. I was hoping for more details than were available in this particular volume. The stories are high level summaries that take between 5-10 minutes each to read. This is great if all you're looking for is anecdotal information about big data so you can talk to others about the topic. If you're looking to truly learn about big data and the technology that helps us take advantage of it I think you'd need to find another book.

Given the cost of the book I'm surprised at the content inside of it. It is definitely not worth 30 dollars. If you're fortunate enough to have a work subscription to something like Safari Books etc. check that out, it might be included free.

PESIMO PHYSICAL AND UGLY

When searching for the book said it was the complete package, but unfortunately it's just a book, not the package, needed the package, and apart from that it was just a book came in very bad condition, was very dirty and the bent edges and damaged, do not think it turns to buy this person.

Great price yet less printing quality

I was very glad to find these books at an affordable price. The content is wonderful and 100% Bible-centered, though I did notice it has been edited since the original 60s edition, perhaps to make them more fit for the 2000s. My greatest disappointment, however, was that the quality of the printing. If you've seen the "older" books, you will notice that this set does not have the same amazing quality in which the illustrations were bright and beautiful and worth every penny. This set is ok, the binding is good, but they are simply less shiny (cheaper printing)... for the price, though, not bad.

Fantastic Read

Burning Ice is the sixth book in the Werewolf Sentinels series by the super talented Marisa Chenery. It's a great read...fast paced and engaging. It kept my interest from start to finish.

This exciting series continues to grow as the last Sentinel, Capac, finds his mate. I've enjoyed each and every one of the books in this series. I knew I'd be feeling the loss when that last wolf brother found his mate. But since the writer has been on top of her game and kept her series fresh...I'm not sweating it cause this series seems far from over.

Capac is the last bachelor in the wolf den. He's feeling lonely and a bit out of place, when he meets his woman just as she ends up blundering into the path of a hungry bear. I liked that part...Riya being an accident waiting to happen. She tries to put her best foot forward...and instead she ends up putting it in her mouth or using it to wound somebody. Being a bit clumsy myself, I understood where Riya was coming from. Because of her clumsiness, Riya hasn't had much success in the relationship business. She has trouble buying that a hot stud like Capac woud really want to tie himself to her. She hesitates on accepting what Capac has to offer. It is her hesitancy on that important decision that brings about a violent and shocking ending to the story.

I really like how this writer gives me heroines who never quite fit the standard mold. I love how her heroes are always strong alpha dudes. Her characters are usually wonderful. However, I have to tell the truth and say that I just did not like Wren, the new girl. I like that the writer has introduced new characters into this game...that way my series can play out longer. And it keeps things interesting. But I just wasn't digging the loud mouthed Wren. There is something off with that girl. She's been living with Riya for over a year, yet she's been distant toward her.

And...oh boy...she's been keeping one hell of a secret. Now that Riya is involved with a wolf brother...Wren wants to be her best girlfriend. Unh Unh...sister. And she's hitting on Ryder awfully hard. He aint buying the goods. So this is gonna go down either of two ways...Wren is working an angle or she knows he is her one true guy. Either way, I can't wait to find out what happens.

I'm gonna say it again, Marisa Chenery is a super talented writer. I loved this fast paced story. I liked the strong plot that this series has centered around. I do love my wolves, but ice age wolves, that is a fresh idea that has played out wonderfully. The series has been ever changing and that has kept me interested in each new story. The writing is flawless and each new plot has flowed easily. The intimate scenes were hot and very detailed. Gotta love that. In fact I did love it ! But the one thing that I love most was how the writer stepped out of the box with this story as well as the others. Her characters are flawed, they are damaged and they don't always react the same. And they always have an exciting story to tell.

So hurry up Ms. Chenery. I can't wait to see what's up with Ryder and Wren.

This is a good book. I do have a problem with the lenghth of the book. The mate was found, turned and claimed but that was it. I was not ready for the book to end when it did. What about Greg? An what is the deal with Wren? I need to know!

Burning Ice

While this story can be read as a stand alone, all the characters are connected to the previous books. To get the most enjoyment out of the series they are best read in order.

Capac is the last of the original werewolf sentinels to find his mate. When he finds her things don't go exactly as planned. He invites Riya over to meet the other wolves and their mates but decides to take his time introducing her to the sentinel lifestyle. That plan doesn't work out when the new leader of the dark wolves decides to make moves to grow his pack. He is more aggressive and shows no desire to back off of the sentinels.

Riya is a bit of a klutz. When she first meets Capac she head butts him and knocks him into a creek when he's trying to help her. Capac is so grateful that he has found his mate at last that he doesn't even mind when she kicks him in the groin on their first date. I loved how Riya is so real. She is pretty down on herself most of the time which seems to be the result of her clumsiness making things difficult for her. I liked how Capac didn't care about that at all, he just loved her for who she was.

While I did enjoy Capac and Riya I do wish we had gotten more of their story. There is an upset with the wolves and dark wolves that was interesting and moves that plot line along, more time with Capac and Riya would have been nice.

I wasn't a huge fan of the addition of Wren mainly because I didn't like her character. She seems stuck up and is deliberately being vague and mysterious. To me she is just annoying. She comes on too strong to Ryder and the fact that she barely spoke to Riya, her roommate, until she felt she could get something from her rubbed me the wrong way.
