I am mexican, and I must say, the author of this book REALLY DOES KNOW what he's talking about. If you want to experience the REAL Cancun/mayan riviera I strongly suggest to buy this guide. In fact this fully illustrated tool of information is an ideal asset for both for mexican citizens and foreigners alike, either you are planning a vacation or just to enjoy a good piece of easy reading.
You will find information of how to get real deals on transportation, accommodations; even food. Food! Through this guide, Mr. Campbell guides you thoroughly where to go and enjoy ACTUAL- traditional mexican cuisine.
Cancun is not just white sand beaches and nightclubs, as you will discover with the help of this guide, there are many places Yucatan Peninsula has to offer, and thus, make your vacations a Life-Time experience. Informative and insightful! Easily worth the small price!

My girlfriend and I just returned from our trip to Mexico and I have to say that this book made our Cancun leg a very pleasant experience. Reading this saved me a lot of time and effort running around. I appreciated how well written and easy to use it really was. I was able to get around both safely and confidently. There are plenty of unique and interesting recommendations the writer gives that ended up saving us mucho dinero! We were able to buy some excellent souvenirs to take back home with the money we saved from all of the book's helpful recommendations. For someone who isn't familiar with travel in Mexico like myself, or doesn't speak much Spanish, I would highly recommend packing this little gem in your bags to take along. Get this book!

Great guide for Cancun and Mayan region

I like this guide because it offers an economical way to see Cancun and the surrounding area without skipping the historical, cultural and recreational sites. Instead of recommending the huge chain hotels on the beach, the writer picks the smaller, less expensive hotels in town. Before booking rooms, I did some comparison shopping. By using the guide’s links I got better deals than what was offered on travel websites. This guide also lays out an itinerary of things to see and places to go by using local group transportation. It’s a cheaper way of getting around and the bus schedules, fares and routes are all provided. It even includes maps that are clearly labeled and easy to understand. This book is an excellent guide. It’s definitely written by someone who has a deep appreciation for traveling around Cancun and the Mayan region.
